SERVING PENSACOLA, AND SURROUNDING AREAS,
FOR OVER 60 YEARS!
Our Story
Three Generations. Over 60 Years of Craftsmanship.
Penton’s Auto Trim & Truck Accessories began as a small garage operation and has grown into one of the most recognized upholstery and trim shops along the Gulf Coast. What started with one man’s craftsmanship has become a three-generation family business serving Pensacola and the surrounding communities.
A Legacy Begins (1964–1985)
1964-Billy Penton started Penton’s Trim & Glass Shop out of his garage, building a reputation for quality workmanship and honest service.
1968-Penton’s moved into its first brick-and-mortar location at the foot of the Bayou Chico Bridge, allowing better access for marine and boat interior projects.
1970-The shop relocated to St. Mary Avenue, just off Pace Boulevard, directly behind Billy Penton’s home—keeping the business truly family-run.
1977-An addition was added to the building to support the growing demand for automotive vinyl tops.
1985-As custom vans surged in popularity, Billy expanded the business to include a custom van shop at the St. Mary’s location.
Growth & Recognition (1986–1998)
1986-The Penton’s logo was born. While visiting a theme park, Billy commissioned a cartoonist to design a logo that is now widely recognized throughout the community.
1988-Penton’s Custom Vans & Truck Accessories opened on “W” Street, becoming the first truck accessory store in Pensacola.
1996-After Billy Penton’s passing, his son Darren Penton—who removed his first seat cover at just 8 years old—took ownership of the business at age 35.
1998-Darren relocated the trim shop from St. Mary Avenue to the “W” Street location, discontinued van customization, and renamed the business Penton’s Auto Trim & Truck Accessories.
Three Generations Strong (2014–Present)
2014-Penton’s proudly celebrated 50 years of serving Pensacola and surrounding areas.
2017-Rusty Penton, Darren’s son, became manager of Penton’s, preparing to carry the family legacy into its third generation.
2025-Rusty officially became owner of Penton’s. During this time, the team expanded and increased its focus on marine and recreational upholstery, while continuing the automotive craftsmanship the business was built on.
Today
More than six decades later, Penton’s remains committed to the same values Billy Penton started with in 1964:
quality workmanship, honest service, and pride in every project.
